2008-2009 Opus Award

At the thirteenth annual Opus awards ceremony, which took place on Sunday, January 31 in Montréal, Yegor Dyachkov and Les Violons du Roy received the 2008-2009 Opus award for Concert of the Year – Classical, Romantic, post-Romantic or Impressionist music, for the concert Impressions russes. The concert, performed on December 5, 2008 at the Palais Montcalm in Québec City, was conducted by Airat Ichmouratov. The program also included the String Quintet op. 39 by Glazunov (played by Yegor in company of four musicians of Les Violons du Roy) and the world premiere of the Concerto for cello, strings and percussion, op. 18 by Airat Ichmouratov. The Opus awards are presented by the Conseil québécois de la musique to highlight excellence in the world of concert music in Québec.
